BATTERY breathes life into your drum samples. BATTERY boasts separate sound parameters for 54 sample cells, powerful modulation capabilities and an unbeatable ease of use. BATTERY is fast, effective, intelligent and convenient. It has sample-accurate timing, internal 32-bit resolution, up to 128 velocity layers per cell and can play samples at any pitch ΓÇö BATTERY fulfills even the highest demands regarding precision, sound quality and flexibility. Also almost 600 MB high quality drum-kits are included.
BATTERY runs either as a stand-alone application or as a VST plug-in on Macintosh and under Windows. BATTERY also supports MAS, and DirectConnect in the Mac OS stand-alone version. It can be played and modulated via MIDI and offers full automation. Up to 32 outputs are available which can be configured flexibly as mono or stereo.
Cells and Samples
BATTERY┬┤s intuitive drag&drop functionality is a big time saver when arranging samples. Sounds from different sound sets can be easily compared and combined into new sound sets without the hassle of readjusting any parameters.
Each of BATTERY┬┤s 54 cells offers a complete set of sound parameters and can use up to 128 velocity-switch and fadeable sample layers. Samples may be loaded into the matrix by drag&drop from the desktop or using a dialog box with automatic sample. Up to three banks in LM4 format can be preview function. BATTERY accepts samples of any resolution from 8 to 32 bits, imported, Akai sounds can be read directly from CD.
Sound Shaping
Each of the 54 sample cells offers a volume envelope (AHDSR), a pitch envelope (DBD), a bit-reduction effect and a shaper for con-trolling the dynamics (like a compressor/ expander combination). All parameter adjustments are calculated and visualized in the wave display in real-time. Each cell receives MIDI data on a selected MIDI channel and the pitch can be transposed according to the MIDI notes if desired ΓÇö useful for basses, for example. Every cell boasts six modulation inputs for which many useful and drum-oriented settings have already been configured as presets.
FX Loop
Each cell has a FX Loop that can be activated to repeat a chosen area of the sample a given number of times. This is very useful for creating modern and innovative rhythmic sound effects, akin to extreme time stretching or granular synthesis.
Optimal Performance
All functions are automatically deactivated when they are not used so that they do not use up any computing time. This dynamical resource allocation makes BATTERY very light on the CPU. When not many sound shaping functions are needed up to 128 stereo voices can be played back from
even a typical 400 MHz computer with no problems.

Selector
Samples can be selected either across rows and columns or independently. In addition, individual sounds can be grouped and controlled together. When grouped all slot settings can be changed simultaneously.

The advanced drag&drop functionality makes it easy to rearrange sounds and settings.
Wave Display
BATTERY truly is ΓÇÿWhat You See Is What You Hear.ΓÇÖ All parameter adjustments, such as tuning, bit-reduction, wave shaping, volume envelope and pitch envelope are calculated in real-time and immediately shown in the wave display.
File Import
BATTERY is compatible with all major file formats including AKAI S-1000/3000Γäó, SF2Γäó, REAKTOR MapΓäó, and LM4Γäó. Several drum-kits can be combined or layered in the matrix.
Modulation
Every cell offers six modulators that can be routed to many parameters simultaneously. Twist a sample from mild to wild. The included presets give many examples of modulations that can be applied to a wide variety of sample material.
FX-Loop
Loops and sounds can be further mangled in the FX-Loop to create everything from repeated syncopation to machine-gun effects.
Tweak
Tuning, shaping, quantizing will warp the sound to make it stick out from the mix or blend it in perfectly.
Output
Every Cell can be routed to an individual output. Battery offers up to 32 outputs, to allow a studio-like workflow.
